This tour has been designed for the guests who have already seen the famous attractions and beauties of Florence and Pisa and are looking for an exceptional and original excursion into the Tuscan countryside and to learn about the wine and olive oil making process. We will provide a tour that is original, informative and entertaining.
The stops are: San Gemignano and Volterra.
San Gimignano is one of the most imposing and best preserved medieval towns of Italy. The thirteen towers that dominate San Gimignano's majestic skyline were built by noble families in the 12th and 13th century, when the town's position, on the main pilgrim route from northern Europe to Rome, brought it great prosperity. The plague of 1348, and the diversion of the pilgrim’s route led to its decline, which, ironically, helped to preserve the town's intact medieval aspect until today.
From San Gimignano hal an hour and the driver will park in the center of Volterra. The Etruscans town sits on a rocky plateau and is protected by medieval ramparts. Takes a tour in the Piazza dei Priori, one of Italy's most impressive squares and visit the Etruscan Museum, known all over the world. You are in the place where Italy's history and language were born! for its fine frescoes.
We choose restaurants and wineries for their quality as well as scenic locations, however if there is a particular place you would like to visit, please let us know and we will try to include it. Because we use high quality professional drivers, please be sure to make sure you book your services in advance. We can also organize personalized wine tasting tours to other famous wine producing estates around Tuscany, including the estate that received the award for the "Italian Wine Maker of the Year 2002".
Your Driver Guide will pick you up from the port in the morning and will take you back to the dock in the afternoon.
