This tour has been designed for those who have already seen the famous attractions and beauties of Rome and are looking for a diverse and exceptional excursion. After approx. 2 hours drive through the beautiful surrounding valleys you will arrive at Tivoli. The area was a favorite resort of the ancient Roman travelers.
Your day starts with a visit to the largest palace ever constructed in the Roman Empire; Hadrian's Villa. Then we drive to the upper level of the town of Tivoli, to the Villa d'Este, where the finest Baroque garden (and one of Italy’s most often-painted and photographed), is located. A trip to Villa d'Este is a magic journey into Baroque times. Beautiful gardens, hedge mazes and hundreds of fountains are the prime attraction of this gorgeous summer villa built in 1550 for Cardinal Ippolito D'Este, son of the infamous Lucrezia Borgia. The courtyard adjacent the present entrance of the villa was the cloister of a Benedectine convent, later incorporated into the monumental building of the villa.
Your Driver-Guide will pick you up from the port in the morning and will take you back to the dock in the afternoon.
