Etruscan Tour & Tarquinia

See some of Italy’s oldest and most fascinating ruins as you walk through the remains Ancient Etruscan towns and burial sites. Travel on to enjoy the charms of the Medieval City of Tarquinia.

TUSCANIA

Tuscania is one of the loveliest towns in Upper Latium. Built on a hilltop by the Etruscans in the 7th century BC, the town was situated in the river Marta valley, about 10 miles from Viterbo. Thanks to trade and farming, Tuscania soon became one of the richest centers in southern Etruria.

TARQUINIA

Tarquinia is designated as a UNESCO world heritage site. English writers George Dennis and DH Lawrence felt in love with the beauty of this town. In addition to the beautiful medieval Tarquinia, you will see the famous and rare frescoed tombs of the Monterozzi necropolis, containing real-life examples of the fascinating Etruscan civilization which was absorbed by the Romans 2400 Years Ago.

See the art collection is housed in the beautiful Vitelleschi palace, built in the XV cent., and considered a great Gothic-Renaissance monument.

We can also organize personalized wine and olive tasting tours to the famous wine producing estates around Tuscania for you.

We choose wineries for their quality as well as scenic locations. We choose restaurants situated in farmhouses where you can taste Extra Virgin "Organic" olive oil, one of the best Italian Olive Oils you can find, and certified by AIAB National Association for Organic Agriculture. If there is a particular restaurant, winery or other site you have heard of and would like to visit, let us know and we will work with you to schedule your visit. Due to the customized nature of these tours, they must be booked in advance.
