The Cinque Terre form one of the most unspoiled areas of the Mediterranean and one of the most extended natural oasis areas in Liguria. To visit the Cinque Terre means to visit five villages suspended between sea and earth. You will learn first-hand the history of people whom, for centuries, fought to tame difficult land, and you will taste the results of this millenarian struggle in Cinque Terre’s local wine and produce., To visit these villages means to learn about the culture of dry-stone walls and of the vineyard, of the fishermen and of their fishing nets, of the steep valleys and of their paths.

Visitors to Cinque Terre can choose between a dive in the sea or a hike on the hills, between a walk in the narrow alleys called "carruggi" or a boat trip, a pilgrimage to a sanctuary or a seafood lunch. It is a unique landscape in the world in which man and nature live together in harmony as they have since the beginning of time.

Arriving at Riomaggiore, the first of the Cinque Terre towns where we'll begin the tour, your Driver Guide will escort you on an easy walk along the famous "Lovers Walk" trail that offers magnificent views of the coastline. Entrance to this guided walk is included in the price of the tour. As you enjoy a delightful and relaxing stroll, the magic and beauty of the Cinque Terre will start to overwhelm you!

Next stop is the village of Manarola, one of the most picturesque and charming of the five villages. Explore a myriad of narrow alleys and pretty squares that reveal the man-made aspect of the local beauty of the Cinque Terre. Take a break and enjoy a wine tasting of the local renowned wine in one of the quaint wine-bars.

From Manarola your tour of the Cinque Terre will continue with a visit to the town of Vernazza, arguably the most beautiful of the five villages that make up the Cinque Terre. Your journey from Manarola to Vernazza will be by boat. The town of Vernazza faces the water. With its large open harbor, castle and church it conjures up all the magic of the Cinque Terre. Enjoy a relaxing lunch at one of the open-air restaurants that line the waterfront, or enjoy a stroll through the back-streets of the town above the harbor to enjoy splendid views along the coast.

For logistics reasons, your local driver guide will escort you as far as Manarola and will make sure you are on-board the boat for Vernazza before departing. Then, he will meet you again in Vernazza after you have had time to explore the town.

Before heading back, you will drive up to Corniglia, the only one of the Cinque Terre towns not located directly on the water. It is the ideal place to finish our day tour of the Cinque Terre. From the town's panoramic terrace you can enjoy some of the best views of the area. The terraced hills are covered with vineyards that remind visitors of Corniglia's famous wine that has been produced here since the ancient times. In fact, the wine was so famous in ancient times that vases excavated at Pompeii boasted its virtues! It is also the less frequented of the five towns. In Corniglia you will have a chance to reflect on your day touring before returning back to the port.

Your driver/guide will pick you up from the port in the morning and will take you back to the dock in the afternoon.

We stop for lunch at a classic local restaurant serving delicious Ligurian cuisine and wine (not included).

PLEASE NOTE: For logistical reasons your Driver-Guide will escort you as far as Manorola, taking care of the tickets for the boat ride (not included) to Vernazza. While you are having a relaxing time enjoying your tour of the Cinque Terre he'll be busy driving tour vehicle to Vernazza where he will rejoin you.
