ORVIETO is a picturesque hill town in Umbria that soars above the surrounding countryside characterized by vineyards and olive groves. It was once a flourishing Etruscan town (ancient Volsinii) between the 7th and 3rd Century B.C., as exemplified by the Etruscan necropolis of the Crocifisso del Tufo. In the 11th and 12th Century the city developed to a Communal government and expanded its rule over the surrounding territory. Orvieto has preserved its medieval appearance with beautiful Romanesque and Gothic buildings, notably the Duomo, a masterpiece of Italian Gothic. Orvieto is also famous for its wine, pottery and artisan shops.

FLORENCE Some of the world's most priceless and important works of art are located in Italy, and approximately half of these are in Florence. The cultural and historical impact of Florence is overwhelming, and its heritage is unique. The tour begins at the square of Michelangelo, which offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the city. After a quick drive down into the historical center, you will stop by the Santa Croce Church, where several of the most famous Italian artists and scientists are buried: (Michelangelo, Donatello and Galileo to name a few). The drive around the city continues with a visit Signoria Square, where you will see an outdoor museum displaying Florence’s famous statues (many are copies and the originals are now in museums) and the Palazzo Vecchio. You will continue to the famous Duomo to see the Baptistery (Ghiberti’s doors were called the Gates of Paradise) and Giotto's Bell Tower. You will also drive by The Old Bridge and Pitti Palace. There is naturally time for a Tuscan lunch, and in the afternoon, for a visit to the most notable museums of Florence, the "Accademia" where you can see the original statue of David by Michelangelo, or the "Uffizi Gallery", which displays the most significant collection in the world of Renaissance masterpieces by Botticelli, Leonardo DaVinci, and numerous other artists and sculptors.
