Set of on a journey to discover the Eternal City, and follow in the footsteps of Michelangelo, who was not just a painter, but also an incredible sculptor and architect. Accompanied by an expert guide we will explore his masterpieces dispersed throughout Rome, and learn the history and interesting anecdotes about Michelangelo’s life. Start your tour from Porta Pia: this door was one of the lasts works by Michelangelo. Reach your second destination, the Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli, where Michelangelo’s reorganization of an ancient bathhouse into a church is regarded a real masterpiece. Walk down cobblestone streets and reach San Pietro in Vincoli, known as St. Peter’s in Chains, the church that houses the shrine of Giulio II and Michelangelo’s famous sculpture, the Moses. Strolling through Rome’s historic center we will reach Piazza del Campidoglio, a piazza with a unique perspective designed by the artist. Head to the Basilica di Santa Maria Sopra la Minerva where you will see the Cristo della Minerva, also known as the Risen Christ, up close and personal. End your tour on the footsteps of Michelangelo with a visit to Piazza Farnese, a piazza dominated by the impressive Farnese Palace.
