Siena and San Gimignano
On this Day Trip you will visit two of the most beautiful medieval towns of Tuscany: Siena and San Gimignano and learn about some of the regions’ most appreciated wines.
You will meet your English Speaking driver at your hotel who will drive you to Siena. Here, you will spend your morning wondering its cobblestone streets and visiting the main square, Piazza del Campo, the home of the Palio delle Contrade, the famous horse races that occur twice a year, following a visit to the Duomo. Afterwards, you will drive through the countryside to one of the local wineries in the heart of Chianti region, Tenuta Casanova, where you can visit their wine cellar, try their own made olive oil and their impressive Balsamic Vinegar that has aged for 30-years. Of course with a light lunch you will try 4 different bottles of wine and 2 wine dessert of their own production cannot be missed!
After lunch you will make your way to the bewitching town of San Gimignano, displaying it’s 14 stone towers, which proved the wealth of the patriarch families. Its a small walled medieval hill town in the province of Siena important for its time and now one of the most visited towns in Tuscany. You have the afternoon here to explore its alleyways and small squares, shop for some of the typical Tuscan delicacies before heading back to Rome.

Service includes pick up from and drop off back at your hotel in one of our luxury vehicles by an english speaking driver.
