Palermo and Monreale
A short drive from the Port in Palermo takes you to Monreale to visit the Cathedral, built in 1174 by William II, and perhaps the finest Norman Building in Sicily. The Cathedral is dominated by its Romanesque Bronze Doors which open to the interior filled with golden mosaics representing stories from the Old and New Testaments. You will have time to stroll through the old streets of Monreale, into the Capo.
We then drive back to Palermo to visit the Four Corners where the town converges on a quartet of Baroque palaces, lovely Churches and fountains, with leisure time to tour one of the sites, shop, or enjoy a delectable Sicilian lunch of pasta and seafood, or indulge in Sicily’s world-renowned cannoli or other pastries, before returning to the port.
The English speaking driver will pick you up from the port and take you back as well in the afternoon.
All rates are quoted in Euro funds. Payment in Euro and/or Euro Travelers Checks. Price includes English speaking driver for the day. Price does not include lunch, gratuities or entrance fees.
